Trumadee has partnered with Caring for Korah, a non-profit that was started to support a community living off of a trash pile outside of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Two families who were in town meeting the children they were about to adopt were taken on a tour of the community of Korah, and from that visit Caring for Korah was created.
One of the two families was my brother and sister- in-law, so I've had the privilege of watching Caring for Korah from its inception and all of the hard work and love that is poured into the families of Korah. When I started Trumadee, I was sharing my vision with my sister-in-law and she said, "maybe we can make some jewelry pouches for you!" and the rest is history.
The women of Korah spin fabric and then sow them into pouches which Trumadee purchases, providing income to the women and their families. Obtaining the bags from Korah can be tricky and often times takes months to receive (I appreciate your patience!), but I believe it's worth it. If you are one of the lucky customers who receives one of these pouches, then your purchase helped pay for a family half way across the world. Thank you.
